Our final full day

Image
Hi everyone,  Well it is our final evening here at Derwent Hill and what a fantastic day we have all had. Mrs Bailey's group began their day climbing to the top of Walla Crag where the views were breathtaking. After lunch everyone had the chance to try the famous 'Death Swing' before another round on the low ropes course. We finished our afternoon off by making fires, sipping hot chocolate and melting marshmallows. Miss Lockerbie's group spent their morning on the 'Death Swing' where some children had TWO  turns! Their afternoon ended in the lake canoeing where they also stopped off on a nearby island for hot chocolates. Mrs Norton's group spent their day on an all day hike - extremely tiring but well worth the views. It was also Mrs Norton's birthday so we will be spending the evening having a little party followed by lots of yummy cake! We have all had a fantastic week and are really looking forward to seeing everyone. xx

Another fun filled day!

Good evening everyone, What a day! Lots of sunshine again and plenty of laughs! Mrs Bailey's group got the chance to go on a speed boat right across Derwent water before hiking to the top of a mountain to rock climb. A great challenge for everyone but a lot of support given to each other too. Some children really shocked themselves at how much determination they really had - brilliant! Miss Lockerbie's group had a full day mountain walking along with a stop at the shops and a cold ice cream to cool the down. Lots of tired boys and girls tonight with all of the walking. Mrs Norton's group had a very wet day! Gorge walking this morning followed by canoeing this afternoon. Lots of team work and fun had :) Enjoy the pictures and see you all soon x

Day 2!

Good evening everyone, Another amazing day had by all! Mrs Bailey's group really stretched themselves this morning with the high ropes challenge and showed amazing teamwork. This continued into the afternoon where they had an amazing time gorge walking and really showed how well they can work together and support each other. Mrs Lockerbie's group had their orienteering and exploration of the grounds this morning in the glorious February sunshine before their gorge walk in the afternoon where they bumped into Mrs Bailey's group a few times! Mrs Norton's group were the first to try out the famous 'Death Swing' which proved a hit and showed off their amazing teamwork skills. In the afternoon the children had their map reading and orienteering, again in the beautiful sunshine, which was thoroughly enjoyed. After our tea we all headed out on our different night walks. A really clear night for star gazing which the children thoroughly enjoyed. We hope you
